Meet volunteer patient companion, Jill.

Sept 15, 2025

Jill Harvey has been a childminder for 30 years, and wanted to do something worthwhile in her spare time, when she retired.

“I visited the mother of one of the children I looked after when she was cared for here, and I loved the atmosphere. It was my first choice when I decided I wanted to volunteer.

“I choose to be a patient companion because I like talking to people and hope that I can support patients and relatives.”

Unfortunately, we’re not recruiting any more volunteers at the moment but keep an eye on our website which we will update when applications reopen.
