London Marathon world record attempt
April 23, 2025
Peter Flewitt, one of our regular supporters, will be taking part in the London Marathon on Sunday to raise funds for our hospice.
Peter is a Team GB 1500m athlete and will be the guided runner for visually impaired Lucy Crowhurst, who, along with her visually impaired daughter, will attempt to break their Guinness World Record from last year. They set the record as the fastest visually impaired mother/daughter combined marathon time.
He said: “After running 2hrs 38mins in the marathon myself many moons ago, I didn’t think that I had another marathon in me until I got approached by Lucy asking me to pace her to a Guinness world record.”
“I want to make the most of this unique and amazing opportunity and what better way than to also raise money for Meadow House Hospice, an incredible service with a kind and dedicated team of staff.”
