Prepare to be spooked for charity
October 21, 2024
It’s that spooky time of year when John and Lisa Cole, from Northolt, are constructing their haunted house to attract visitors and raise funds for Meadow House Hospice.
As each year goes by, the family are inspired to make the Halloween celebrations at their house in Kempton Avenue on the Racecourse Estate bigger and better than the last.
This time, as well as welcoming the Radio Harrow team, they are planning a special opening at 5pm on Halloween Night, 31 October, with a performance of the Thriller flash mob routine by SA Dance group.
A tarot reader, The Oracle, will be seeking £10 donations to the charity for her services.
The Candy Witch will also be in her 'treat shop' where people can buy freshly-made pop waffles, popcorn, light-up candy floss and hot drinks.
The big challenge will be to brave the haunted house walk through. Donations will admit you into the house, where you will find live actors, special effects and animatronics.
John said: “It’s a lot of work but we love doing it and the money goes to a good cause. The hospice was there for my mum, and this is our way of saying thank you.”
Each child visitor will receive a free bag of sweets, so go along, if you dare!
