We were delighted to officially launch our five-year strategy on 18 September.

Guests attending the launch event included hospice and LNWH NHS Trust staff, the Mayors of Ealing and Hounslow, and colleagues from partner organisations who had invaluable input into the strategy.

The ambitious new strategy sets out our new goals, to:

• Support partners to provide non-specialist palliative care by developing and resourcing an education programme
• Deliver high quality, equitable specialist palliative care across Ealing and Hounslow
• Be a high-quality employer
• Build collaborative ways of working with partners, communities and LNWH Trust Charity to improve end-of-life care

LNWH NHS Trust Chief Executive, Pippa Nightingale, said: “I’m proud of the hospice team, who put engagement at the cornerstone of their strategy. In the face of rising demand and challenges, this strategy ensures our hospice can sustainably support the people of Ealing and Hounslow well into the future.”

Charity Director, David Jenkins, said: “It’s an exciting time for the hospice. They have forged strong integral partnerships across the community and these collaborations will help us to achieve our strategy goals.”

Clinical Lead for Meadow House, Treena Saini, said: “I am proud of our hardworking staff who continue to give the very best of themselves every day. By co-defining and coproducing models of care with our hospital and community colleagues, we will be able to continue to provide high-quality specialist care.”

We have already made some progress:

• Recruited more community staff
• Piloting a day services model and planning to reopen day services shortly
• Employed a new educator who has already started training with community nurses in Hounslow
• Recruited a volunteer co-ordinator
